VICTORIA, BC – November 2, 2010 – Returning to Victoria, BC by popular demand, master songwriter, musician and poet Leonard Cohen will bring his world tour back to Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre on Tuesday, November 30th, 2010. This highly anticipated concert, which follows his previous Victoria performance in April 2009, marks the last Canadian show added to the tour, and a rare opportunity to catch Mr. Cohen before his planned return to the studio this year. In addition to the Victoria, BC date, North American concert engagements have been scheduled in Vancouver, BC; Oakland, CA; Portland, OR; and Las Vegas, NV.  This final series of shows wrap one of the most successful returns to the stage by any solo artist and brings the total number of performances by Mr. Cohen to more than 250 since May 2008.

Tickets for the November 30th concert will go on sale to the public Monday, November 8th at 10:00 AM and will be available online at SelectYourTickets.com, charge by phone (250) 220-7777 or at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre Box Office. Tickets are subject to applicable service charges and event time and date are subject to change. Fan Club pre-sales for Victoria will run from Thursday, November 4th (10:00am Pacific) to Sunday, November 7th (10:00pm Pacific) at www.LeonardCohenFiles.com.  Local presales will run on Friday, November 5th (from 10:00am to 10:00pm Pacific). Log onto www.LeonardCohenFiles.com for the most up to date concert and ticket on-sale information.

Around the world, all of Leonard Cohen’s magnificent three-hour performances have received overwhelming ovations night after night.  The vast list of music critics in unanimous agreement continues in kind, with the Victoria Times Colonist reporting that Cohen received “an automatic standing ovation at what was clearly the Church of Leonard.”  The Vancouver Sun called the show “nothing short of a religious experience” and the Las Vegas Sun praised “his songs of love, loss and longing serving as soundtrack to some sort of spiritual celebration.”  The Winnipeg Sun raved “Cohen had the lovingly boisterous crowd in the palm of his hand from the moment he walked out on stage to the first of the several standing ovations,” while the Las Vegas Review Journal described the concert as “a joyous, spirited occasion…the rapturous, near-capacity crowd responded as if he were serenading each and every one of them individually.”

As he has been throughout his world tour, Mr. Cohen will be joined by Sharon Robinson and the Webb Sisters – who have wowed crowds around the world with their rich, complementary background vocals. Also joining Mr. Cohen on stage are Roscoe Beck (bass, vocals), Neil Larsen (keyboards & Hammond B3 accordion), Bob Metzger (electric, acoustic & pedal steel guitar), Javier Mas (bandurria, laud, archilaud, 12 string acoustic guitar), Rafael Gayol (drums, percussion), Dino Soldo (sax, clarinet dobro – keys).

One dozen of Leonard Cohen's most famous songs from his unforgettable live 2008-09 world tour performances—from Tel Aviv to London, from across Europe to the California desert and his native Canada—are now collected on SONGS FROM THE ROAD.  The 12-song program, filmed in high definition and recorded in 5.1 surround sound, is now available in four separate packages: CD, DVD, Blu-ray, and 2-LP 180-gram audiophile vinyl in a gatefold jacket.

Leonard Cohen is a master songwriter, musician and poet whose stunning body of original work has touched the lives of millions with a career spanning five decades. He was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame (2006) and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2008) for outstanding work.  Cohen’s world tour, which inaugurated in May 2008, is still playing to sold-out crowds.

For four decades, Leonard Cohen has been one of the most important and influential songwriters of our time, a figure whose body of work achieves greater depths of mystery and meaning as time goes on.

In 2008 Cohen was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and it was also the year that brought him back to the stage, performing in front of audiences in Canada for the first time in 15 years.

Don't miss Leonard Cohen at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre on November 30th!
